THE ECO-FRIENDLY CONVERTIBLE PIZZA BOX
A senior at Charlotte Latin School, Kayla Tillman recognized while vacationing at Universal Studios a need for a pizza box that is convertible into a smaller pizza box for storing leftovers. This is especially true when staying at a hotel where the in-room refrigerators are particularly small and do not typically accommodate conventional sizes of pizza boxes.
By converting a regular sized pizza box into a much smaller pizza box, leftovers may be saved without requiring a different container. Such reuse of the original pizza box is believed to be eco-friendly
Kayla's solution involves an innovative pattern of fold lines and perforations formed in a cardboard blank used to make a pizza box. Kayla filed a prioritized U.S. patent application for her invention. The patent application published by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office on December 15, 2022.
